Improved iCloud syncing in our apps

We’ve completely redone iCloud syncing in our apps to make it faster and more reliable than ever. Because this is a major change, you’ll need to make sure to update all your devices to continue syncing. Here are the versions that work together:

Deliveries

  • Deliveries 6.2 for iOS. To find the version number, tap the gear icon and look below the Junecloud logo. You can download the latest version by opening the App Store and tapping on the Updates tab.
  • Deliveries 1.2 for Mac. To find the version number, open the Deliveries menu and choose “About Deliveries”. If the app is in menu bar mode, click the gear icon and choose “About Deliveries” there. The version number is below the Deliveries icon. You can download the latest version by opening the App Store and clicking on the Updates tab.

Notefile

  • Notefile 2.7 for iOS. To find the version number, tap the gear icon and look below the Junecloud logo. You can download the latest version by opening the App Store and tapping on the Updates tab.
  • Notefile 2.7 for Mac. To find the version number, open the Notefile menu and choose “About Notefile”. If the app is in menu bar mode, click the gear icon and choose “About Notefile” there. The version number is below the Notefile icon. You can download the latest version by opening the App Store and clicking on the Updates tab.

When to use Junecloud sync instead

For most people we’d recommend using iCloud. With the latest updates it’s as fast and reliable as Junecloud sync. In most cases iCloud syncing doesn’t require any setup—it works automatically. It can even make use of background push notifications to make syncing almost instant. There are some advantages to Junecloud sync though:

  • You can edit your notes or deliveries from any web browser
  • You can add a delivery by forwarding an email
  • If you want to sync with someone else, like a spouse that has their own iCloud account, you can create a Junecloud account and share it
  • It will allow you to sync with older versions of the app, if you can’t update all your devices
  • It’s required to sync with our Dashboard widgets for Mac
