Junecloud Automator Actions 2.5.2
Mac OS X,
Automator Actions. Updated July 26th, 2012
These Automator actions are designed to take some of the tedium out of your work. Many of them were created specifically for web designers and developers. However, if you’re not either of those, you may still find them useful. For information about each action, see below. If you’re new to Automator, you can learn about it here. Formerly named “Automator Actions for Web Designers”.
Junecloud Automator Actions includes: Save for Web, Make Names Web-Friendly, Create Clean Archive, Create Symbolic Link, and Hide or Show Extensions. Change Extensions and Find Finder Items by Label are no longer included.
Save for Web
This Automator action (formerly named Save as JPEG) will export images in JPEG, GIF, or PNG format using Adobe Photoshop CS (for higher quality images) or Preview (for faster conversion without opening an application). Additional options allow you to constrain the image to a maximum width and height, and sharpen the image after resizing. Works great as a Finder plugin, so you can access it with a single click!
New in version 2.5.2:
- Fixed a bug where two files with identical names would be saved as the same image, even if they were not the same
New in version 2.5.1:
- Fixes an occasional “AppleScript Error -1708” that could appear, and other reliability improvements for OS X Lion
New in version 2.5:
- Improved compatibiltiy with Photoshop CS5
- Saving a PNG using Photoshop will now preserve transparency
New in version 2.4:

New in version 2.2:
- The image is now flattened before it’s converted to RGB, for much better color accuracy (Photoshop)
- Now works with images that aren’t 8 bit (Photoshop)
- Added installer and sample Finder Plug-In
New in version 2.1:
- Layered images are now flattened before resizing
- Fixed a bug where images could not be saved directly in the home folder

Create Clean Archive
This Automator action creates a clean zip format archive (.zip) that’s ready to share with others. Macintosh resource forks and desktop files will be ignored so they don’t get in the way on other operating systems. If you’re uploading the file online, use the action “Make Names Web-Friendly” afterward to ensure the archive has a web-friendly file name. Works great as a Finder plugin, so you can access it with a single click!
New in version 1.4.1:
- Fixed a bug where the action could fail if the archive was saved to a folder with parenthesis or other special characters in the name
New in version 1.4:
- Aliases and text clippings (.textClipping) are now excluded, because those files aren’t compatible with this type of archive
- Fixed a bug where files or folders with certain characters in the name (like slashes and parenthesis) would cause an error
New in version 1.3:
- Removes the hidden Icon files that Mac OS uses for folder icons
New in version 1.2:
- Compatible with Snow Leopard
New in version 1.1:
- Added an option to save files in the same folder as the originals
- Added an option to delete the original files after archiving
- Added an option to exlude all files and folders that start with a period (for example, .htaccess files)
- Now shows up in the Files/Folders section of Automator in Leopard
New in version 1.0.1:
- Fixed an error message
- Added installer and sample Finder Plug-In

Create Symbolic Link
This Automator action creates a symbolic link for each of the selected files. A symbolic link is similar to an alias, except that many applications, including the Create Clean Archive action, will see only the file points to rather than the alias itself.

- Now has an option to specify a file name
New in version 1.1
- Compatible with Snow Leopard
New in version 1.0.1
- Now shows up in the Files/Folders section of Automator in Leopard

- Compatible with Snow Leopard
