Firewall Switch Dashboard Widget

Firewall Switch

In response to my Bluetooth Switch widget, I had someone ask me if it would be possible to make a similar widget for the firewall. After realizing the code would be nearly identical to the Bluetooth widget, I decided to go ahead and make one. It only took a few hours to put together, and I spent most of that time just making the icon! Visit my Mac Goodies section to download it.

Extremely cool - thanks. For me, what would be even cooler is if I could have it open an app when I turn the firewall off - i.e. Interarchy, so that I can update websites via ftp which I can not currently do when my firewall is on.

Anyway - thanks again!

Thanks guys, glad you like it!

Brian, perhaps you should just open up the FTP port (usually 21) in your firewall? At some point I’m sure I’ll add more options on the back, but unfortunately I just don’t have the time right now!
